Help viewing swf/embedded videos

All of a sudden, I can't view embedded videos. You know, like, if someone where to post a YouTube video in this thread, I wouldn't be able to see it. I just see a blank square with a think that looks like a piece of paper with some shapes on it in the upper corner. I think this means it's an swf file, but I could be way off. How do I fix this? I mean, I can still go on YouTube and watch vids just fine, but not being able to see embedded videos or go on certain sites is really irritating. For the record, I'm using Internet Explorer 7. I know 8 is out, but I seriously hate the new look.>_> Don't think it would fix my problem, either. A normal player doesn't seem to work, since it opens something like media player, and this is inconvenient and doesn't work for sites.

I had this problem too but I read somewhere if you right click on the video and click settings, the first tab will have check box that says "Enable Hardware Acceleration" uncheck that and see if it helps, you can also try updating Adobe Flash.

Didn't work. Clicking on the videos that don't show up doesn't even bring up such an option-it's like I'm just clicking on the page. I got it to appear by clicking on a YouTube video on the site-as I said, the YouTube site still works fine,-and unselecting that option changed nothing. And I don't think it could be a problem with the version of the program I'm using, either.
