Help w/ mobo please

For Asus the P5N32 SLI model is recommended more often. It depends on your application there. The Asus model offers two ide channels if you are going to run more then one ide hard drive along with ide optical drives(cd or dvd).

The Gigaabyte board offers 6 sata ports for more sata type drives even the new cd or dvd burners now seen. That model also offers 3 not 2 pci slots for expansion cards over the 2 seen on the Asus model. For single card use either will work.

For SLI or even using a more pricey PCI-E type sound card now available you would have to look at the Asus board there. For sata capacity and a 3rd pci slot the Gigabyte model has it.
 
Out of those if you going to run SLI the Asus P5N-E if not the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L but either will run any single PCIe Video Card
 
If I was going with an Intel board and a single PCI-E card the 6 sata ports and 3 not 2 pci slots the Gigabyte model would be favored here. I suspect Asus is going through another series of bad caps with the new board one of them. I advised a friend last year on seeing 2 replacement boards sent to either select a different model or make and model on a 939 build. A good supply to go along with the board selected will be a help with the needs of that model video card there.
 
Eight sata ports and 3 pci slots on the Gigabyte model. Not bad for the lower price on that model over the EVGA board. The preference here of course is for nForce chipsets over Intel's. That tops the two Gigabyte and one Asus model posted earlier with either 4 or 6 sata ports. The 3rd pci slot helps with running a sound card on an XP system at times with the resource sharing problems that can appear. That's where an expansion card was then moved to the 2nd or 3rd pci slot.
 
Despite preferences here that will still a good catch to be looked at. SLI can be an expensive waste unless you are wanting performance with multiple monitors. That's where having a second high end card insync sees a boost.
