HELP: Warranty vs. Quality

Here's my problem guys, I need to upgrade my PSU, so it can support the 8600GT I ordered. BUT doing so will void the 1 year warranty of my new hp Pavilion.

In order not to void it, I have to buy where I bought my hp(an hp reseller), but their PSU sucks, an unknown brand which costs $20. While the one I want costs $80 and is quite famous in Asia.

So should I void my warranty for a better PSU? Or just stick with that unknown brand to keep it?

Personally I have yet to use any warranty on a computer (except the warranty on my processor, which I fried due to OCing it. Brought it to a friends tech place to have em check it out just to make sure it actually was fried, it was... I called intel, said it was fried, I didn't OC it, and had the Dell call the techie and he vouched for me and told em I didn't OC it - got a new processor for FREEE =D). Anyway, besides that processor I haven't used my warranty on anything so personally, I'd say screw the 11 months, I want my vid card in RIGHT now....

But its up to you, if you have frequent computer problems then maybe you should hold onto the warranty, but if you can fix most situations yourself, or have very few situations then trash the warranty.

Well, of all my 4 PCs(this is the 4th) for the past 12-13 years... this is my first branded one. The rest though still have warranty but never had problems til after the first year. I guess I want my video card too right now. LMAO!

I hope I can sweet talk the technicians to allow it.
