help! when ever i try to play lost planet my monitor says "out of range"!

what do i do? i cant see anything! it just says out of range when i play! i cant press ctrl+alt+del and it get back to my desk top just fine! HELP! :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
 
It could be that lost planet is trying to start up in a resolution not supported by your monitor. Bit odd. You can try altering your Ini. file located under \Users\User1\AppData\Local\capcom\ if you're running vista. You're going to looking for a value like defaultres, or something similar. Change it to your monitors native Rez.

no idea where that is! the demo worked fine! and at my friends house it was fine! plus i installed it in a different location! the data from my friends monitor res wouldn't be loaded anyway!
 
sounds to me as if you set the resolution of the game to a too high setting for your monitor to manage. see if the the game has a safe mode or so.. or if you can reset the settings somehow.

i have no idea where or how to get to the Ini. file. i have no idea where your directions tell me tom go.
 
you should install driver for your monitor so the os knows the max resolution and it will not happen. you can enter safe mode and change it back to something like 1028x1024 and start from there in game and change it to your native resolution.
 
This happened to me in test drive unlimited once. Right click on the games .exe file, and under compatibility tell it to run in 640x480 mode. Brace yourself for pixelated madness, then go to the settings menu and change it to whatever you monitor supports.
