Im trying to build a gaming computer with 1000 bucks. I live in washington state. I would like to get it for about 800-900 but my budget is 1000. I dont know too much about computers so i wont be overclocking and probably will only need max of 200gb HD. anyhelp would be nice. YOu dont have to post links to anything if you dont want to just the name of it will work.

Do you need an operating system?

(unless you have a retail copy of windows or are using linux, you do)

yeah sorry i need one but is windows 7 64 bit really better than 32?

i need a monitor too thats why i would like to save some money. I have 1100 total would like to buy a monitor new but i can buy off craigslist if i must. oh I have a mouse but no keyboard.

You'll want 4GB of RAM on a modern system, which will requite 64bit.

Any particular preference on the case? (looks, size, lighting, side window, etc...)

Indeed, but in this case being able to play is well inside his budget.

No doubt. Its just that sometimes I get annoyed when people want to run systems at full max but they're limited to a certain budget and ask will this play certain games at full max. Granted some budget building systems will but thats only maybe 35% chance... What do i know... Anyway, that system you designed for him will do fine based on his needs.

That is kind of annoying, though sometimes it works out...when I finally build my rig I'll have either an i3 or a phenom II x4, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB HDD, and enough GPU power to play the games I want, all for around $500 including windows 7 pro.
