Help with a new rig

I need suggestions for me building a computer. I am going to build it after the release of Vista so I want everything to run good with Vista. I am looking to put about 1200$ into it. Please help!
 
 
Oh and I also just puchased a new graphics card for my computer. I have the 7600 GS nVidia. Would that almost be comprable with the 7900GS?
 
not at all, the 7900GS is much better

but if you just purchased it, it can easily hold you off a year or so until DX10 and vista if you arent a major gamer
 
I play video games here and there but this is for mostly video editing, and music editing. Plus just everyday tasks with vista.
 
This just in, I think I'm goin to go a more expensive route.

Could someone give me some ideas for a computer wit a quad core intel chip cuz thats what I'm goin to get
