Help with a old pc

hey, when it's possible I would like to know why I can't install windows to a pc. it is P II and 256 RAM pc100. When trying always a error of memory come out and stop.

I will be glad if somebody help me.

Windows 98 would be the newest Windows OS I would try and install...

If you want to give Linux a try go to www.xubuntu.org and make a Alternative boot CD for free, and install it. It works well with older hardware.

I have a Compaq Persario 5000 with a PIII 933mhz, 512MB PC100 RAM, and 20GB HDD running ubuntu. Works great.
