Hi
I have a Packard Bell I-Media with 512mb RAM. I have recently purchased 2 x 1gb DDR 400 memory modules to up the performance of the PC. Since fitting these I have crash after crash. Each time the monitor goes blank and the system just reboots.

According to the Crucial memory scan the system should have no problems running 2gb of memory (the system maximum), but the reality it cannot.

Anyone with an idea how to fix this.

Thanks

There must be some incompatibility somewhere. If you can, right when it crashes, feel your RAM... it sounds like they might be over heating. You MIGHT be able to fix this with some heat spreaders, but I would recommend returning the RAM and trying a different brand, preferably one listed as compatible by the manufacturer of your motherboard.
