help with bad quality flv

hey guys, i have downloaded some movies and videos from you tube with "flv" format with some low quality. I have converted them to all kinds of formats but i still have a low quality when i play them on the wide screen "16:9".......... what do i have to do to the "flv" videos to get a better quality on the big screen?

some videos from youtube are bad quality no matter what you do with them, if the orginal file is of bad quality then converting it to another format wont change the quality for the better.

im not sure if this breaks the forum rules or not btw
