Help with card instilation

Hi, I have a NVIDIA Geforce 8400GS 512mb card I need help installing on my computer. This is my comp http://www.amazon.com/Photosmart-Desktop-Pentium-Processor-LightScribe/dp/B00094NNI8. The heat sink is totaly in the way of another card next to it. I need some help figuring out exactly what I have to do here. Do I remove the card in the next slot? What is the card in the comp?

I obviously know nothing about computers and any help would be great!

Alright. all I figured out so far is that the card that is already in the comp is the sound card..?

I got no instructions with my video card so can someone please tell me how to install a video card? What comes first? When do I put the CD in?

Someone plz help a newb out.

Hope you got a PCI card, because thats all the slots you have. If so just install the card. Hook everything back up. Boot up and install the drivers off the CD or go to Nvidia and download the latest ones.

I installed the card and pluged the monitor into it. The "no input signal" shows up on my monitor.. What am I doing wrong?

Ha wow dusty! Try cleaning the the slot your putting the card into fragments of dust could be interupting the connection between the card and the motherboard and if one slot does not work try another slot to see if that one with work? If you dont suceed try contacting help and support from which you pruchased the card from or the company. Wish you luck =]

EDIT: Also just reading your last post try putting the card into the slot and dont plug the Moniter cable into it but plug it into its original port (where you got it from) then place the CD in the CD drive and install that could be another way?

But please clean the dust out of your computer it looks icky :P

I put the card in, I left the monitor plugged in the original spot. The monitor worked fine. I put the CD in and clicked "driver instilation" and it tells me "An unsupported instillation was detected". Then I clicked OK and a thing comes up saying "report this problem"...

Does anyone know what I need to do?? Someone PLEASE help because this computer thing p!$$!ng me off!

Any help would be great!!

I think at this point you should seek out a local computer shop and have then install the card. It's something I would do for $25 on the spot if you were to bring it in but I'm not in your area.
