Help with Compaq

My Compaq Presario running Vista Home Premium keeps freezing on the Compaq BIOS. Sometimes it works after five minutes and sometimes not.
I've run disk checks and the defragmenter and Norton and they all say everything's fine. Please help.

I would try to enter the BIOS and make sure that quick boot (or similar) is enabled, it may just be performing a full memory check which can take quite a while. You may also try disabling the full logo show option, which will show you what is actually going on and it would be of more help to us if we knew where exactly it was freezing up on.
