I have a spreadsheet containing all kinds of data. One of the columns is State. The state for each row is listed as one of 50 state abbreviations. NH, MA, CT.. etc...

I need to create a pie chart showing what percentage each state is represented. What is the most appropriate way to do this? I am using Excel 2002.

I don't know what kind of data you have, but suppose for each state you have categories for population, # democrats, # colleges. You have to make a separate pie chart for each category. To do this, highlight the 50 states and cells in the population category. Hit f11 which will display a graph it thinks you want. Tinker with this using graph options until you get what you want. Repeat for other categories by highlighting states & # dems, states & # colleges.
