Good evening,

Well so at christmas i got bored and had around £300 to spend. Seeing as i need to get rid of the crappy laptop im using i thought about building a computer. I have no experience of building computers and what else i will need to buy.
Here is what i have found already with prices:

processor £187- Intel Core i7 860 2.80Ghz (Socket LGA1156) Processor

motherboard £52.99- ASRock H55M-LE - motherboard - micro ATX - iH55 - LGA1156 Socket

500gb harddrive £29.49-WD Caviar Blue 500 GB Internal hard drive - 300 MBps - 7200 rpm

dvd drive £13- sony DVD rw 24x

graphics card £50- Nvidia Geforce GT240 1gb

I am looking to build a quality gaming computer . Could somebody please tell me what else i will be needing to buy and do all the parts i have already picked compatiable with one another?

I see you are from the UK, may I have the site in which you are purchasing these items?

Well, there are some things missing; RAM, OS, PSU and case.
Until I get the site you are ordering from, I can't really help you.

Hmm. For 300quid I'll see what I can do.
Cheap RAM: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...nel+Memory+Kit+?productId=43087&rqcType=c#rqc (never heard of it).
Try to find RAM around that speed. Or CAS8 if it's cheap enough.
As for the video card, you probably can't get much, I'd recommend either a 5770 or GTX 260 core 216. Anything else will probably be out of budget.
Possibly this for the power supply: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...er+Series+500CX+Power+Supply+?productId=42489
And a case; well that's your department. Get something you like

You will probably be spending more than 300quid unless you cut back on the video card and/or processor.

I could definetly go over budget. Will have £120 a month to spend and im not in any rush. I could go up to a budget of £400 . But what do you think to what i have chose up to now?

The motherboard is a bit low-end, but I don't suppose you are going to overclock at all.
If you stick with the i7 and a 5770/5850 or GTX 260, it'll be a nice small rig.
Definitely good for most games with at least 1680x1050 resolution.
Then you could ideally sell your vid card to get a better one in the future, or upgrade the memory.

Im looking for a computer that will play games such as World of Warcraft without problems on high setting oh and could you recommend any better motherboards that will be around my price range?

Oh. Well you won't need anything really powerful for that lol
I thought you were gonna play like Crysis 2 or Metro 2033 or something.
Unfortunately, I can only find mATX boards around the 60 mark.
That setup will be great for WoW. The only thing left is a case and Windows 7 x64

About a computer case. Do i need to get a certain size to make sure my parts fit?

Stupid question but im a noob to this and will understand more when iv built my comp :p

I'd get a mid tower case. Doesn't really have to be anything fancy. Only if you were to get a high end video
card do you need to worry about case size.

No problem my good sir :)
The main issue I ran into was finding a place to buy parts in the UK. Here in the States, it's rather easy lol.
Good luck with the build and learning experience! Enjoy and have fun :)

I sure will . Now to order my parts with my uncle :) I also heard from a friend that the parts from EU are cheaper than US

My build should look like this:

Processor (Could/may downgrade to a cheaper option) - Intel Core i7 860 2.80Ghz (Socket LGA1156) Processor

Motherboard- ASRock H55M-LE - motherboard - micro ATX - iH55 - LGA1156 Socket

HDD- WD Caviar Blue 500 GB Internal hard drive - 300 MBps - 7200 rpm

DVD Drive- sony DVD rw 24x

Power Supply- Corsair Builder Series 500CX Power Supply

RAM (Possibly look around for cheaper) - Arianet Elite 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit

Graphics Card- Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (At £94.99, will look hard for other possible options)

Case- Asus TA-881 Black/Silver Midi Case No PSU (I had no clue about the case i will be needing so i picked a cheap one at £20)
