Help with high number of page cannot be displayed lately?

I have been getting a very high amount of "page cannot be displayed" when trying to go to websites this past week or so. I recently installed ZoneAlarm on my computer and wonder if it could be anything to do with that or not? My computer does automatic windows updates each day, so I am guessing it is not to do with that. I use windows xp. Thank you for help on this.
 
P.S. When I get "the page cannot be displayed" page if I refresh several times then I can usually get the site I am trying to then.
