Help with Laptop Recovery

My laptop died last night and I've removed the hard drive and hooked it up to my desktop PC. When I logged on to my laptop, I had it set so windows would ask me for a password before it went to my desktop. Now that I have the HD hooked up to my desktop, I can't access those files under that user. It says access denied. Is there a way I can enter my password so I can access these files?

Were the file placed under a private folder, if so you can boot up in safe mode and login as an admin. Never mind I'm a dumb anus, but still tell me if you set the folder as private at some point in time. Try accessing the files as the administrato any ways

You could use the BackUp tool which is on system tools, but it would take ages depending on how much data you are wanting of it.
