Help with mini displayport for eyefinity

I ordered a dvi -> mini display port adapter off of new egg, but it doesnt seem to fit together. (although I am using a xfx vga to dvi connector as well).

Dont ask why I didnt go straight to a vga -> mini display port.

I am really paranoid about this, so could anyone guide me to adapter that I can use for eyefinity?

I see a lot of "apple, used for macbooks" types and not sure if those will work.

Do not have the four holes that go around the - part of it, so it will not fit (with my vga/dvi adapter)

Those are all the ones that I found, within the same price range as what you linked. Any one of those cables ought to work right, assuming you need the female end of the DVI cable. And, those have the four holes you were talking about.

Are you sure it's not a mini-HDMI? I hate these things. Now I have to go buy a frigging adapter because some derp decided to put a smaller connector, purely to annoy the consumer and make them buy an adapter. To however that person is, you are a bastard!

My monitor takes has a VGA connector so if I grab another DVI/mini display port I would have to do vga -> dvi -> mini display .

So would this vga -> mini display port work?

A little paranoid after the last failed 1 I bought so I want to make sure before I order this 1 hehe.

bestbuy, radioshack, and everywhere else that is local around here do not carry a mini display port. Most workers didnt even know what that was...
