At random times the screen goes black. Sometimes every minute and sometimes every hour. Sometimes only halve of the screen goes black for a sec and sometimes the whole screen flash's black for a second. When it goes black it wont respond and the screen is completely off like the pc is off but the pc is still on. I then have to close the screen until the pc goes idle and then open it. Sometimes i have to do this repeatedly time after time.
What could cause this? The power supply? Screen? OS?
 
don't know if this will be anything related to the black screen virus, but what you could try is this

press ctrl+alt+del key at same time, which will bring up the task manager, right once task manager is open click new task, then type explorer.exe and click o.k it may take a few mins to load up but hopefully it should be o.k

or if you can boot into safe mode and restore your system to an earlier time before this black screen error arrived.

well if you want to get it checked for virus scan your computer with your anti virus program or go the security section here and get johnb35 's help on what to do ;)
