help with ms dos

i have a problem with ms dos. whenever i want to do something with it like go into command, it says "16 bit msdos subsystem - c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running msdos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate". i cant use any program that uses it. please help

i have had this problem in the past. I fixed it by downloading and applying a patch to my computer.

I cant remember what patch it was, or where i got it from, but if you search google you should find it

you are running a 16bit dos application in a 32bit windows environment is what I am gathering. What OS are you running?

If you need actual DOS support you are best off running a virtual machine of DOS in your new windows machine.

Get VMVARE and use dos on it!
