im not a fan of the centurion series but hey its ur choice, the heatware is nice. y a plain dvd rom? no dvd burner or at least a dvd cdrw combo? they come in handy. as for the temps, u can check them in BIOS, some cases come with temperature sensors which are these little black pads that sit right on top of the cpu or gpu or wherever u want them and they have lcd readouts on the front bezel or some fit into a 5 1/4" bay

Cool yeh I seen the cases with those. The reason I got just a plain dvd/cd reader is cause ill get a burner later and be able to burn strait from cd. Why is it you dont like that case?

You could have used a better power supply, mabye a 500w. and a better looking case :P. i also think you should go with a lanparty for this build asus is more for intel. dfi is more for amd :D. other then allthat... i say go for it

What power supply do you recamend ill call new egg tomorrow before they ship it. Nevermind smack I just noticed the rosewill one.

Don't forget as5 or windows if needed. Yes, good rosewill psu. You might want to consider a msi mobo instead as ppl have had problems with asus, but if not its okay. DFI you should get if o'cing.

Wow that is a sweet psu I might get somethin like that later you think the rosewill one I picked will do fine for now its not much below 30amp. This is my first build and im a networking guy so I just didnt know the specs on the psu i needed.

I am going to start it up for the first time tonight any tips? Any problems I should look out for? Thanks cant wait to get off work and start this thing Im coming from a POS HP to this. What you think the best way to partition the hard drive would be?
Here are the specs again.

MSI K8N Neo4/SLI
AMD 64 3500+
CORSAIR DDR400 512x2
MSI 6600GT
Seagate SATA 120gb
Rosewill RP500 PSU
Cooler Master Centurion 5 Case

Some PSU reccomendtions in PSU 101.

That PSU still has rather low amperage on the 12v rail, but it may work. I myself wouldn't go for anything with less than 30 amps.
Heh he's not really powering anything with his machine so thats plenty fine

Partition it however you want ... it's entirely dependent on what you want to do with the system

Ok got everything started up and running good but got 2 minor problems.

1. The sound wont go as loud as it was on my hp but the speakers did come with my HP and possibly I need some with sound control. The headphones dont seem to get as loud either tho so I dunno whats up.

2. My hard drive makes the little safe to remove icon stay up in the task bar?

Thats it everything else seemed to work great ill mess with it more tomorrow after I copy the stuff I need off my hp.

Thats the SATA hotswapping thing ... to get rid of that, disable write caching (prolly something you dont wanna know anyways)
