Help with new batteyr

Hello everyone.
I have read and re-read everthing I can find, but I can not find a solution. I recently purchased a new aftermarket battery for my Dell E1505. The battery is recognized by the computer and shows it is 100% charged and functioning properly, but it will not power up my computer. I have to start it with the ac adapter and if I unplug the adapter it dies. I have A17 bios and I have sent the battery back for a replacement. The new battery does the exact same thing. I have opened the computer in BIOS and it recognizes the battery and shows it 100% charged as well. If I install my original Dell battery it works fine. I am replacing original Dell batery because it does not last very long anymore. My neww battery is a longer lasting battery if that matters. Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to contact the manufacturer, or even Dell on this matter (however, I don't know how much support they can give on non-oem products).

I did speak with the after market battery customer support and they said it should be working. They offered to replace it for the second time, but I am not sure this will help as the replacement they sent had the same problem. I am reluctant to call Dell because as you stated it is non-oem. Not sure they will give me any advice except by their battery. That may be what I have to do.
 
I'm recommending to send that battery back for a full refund and buy a genuine Dell battery. Laptops are proprietary, meaning they usually only like their own parts. Yeah, the parts are usually a lot cheaper somewhere else but actually more of a headache down the road most likely. Spend the money and get a genuine Dell battery.

This is the direction I took. I sent the battery back today and will order a genuine Dell battery. I guess this is what I get for trying to be cheap. Thanks for the response.
