Help with new card possibilities.

I had my eye on the 5xxx series prior but now realized that they would be far to overpriced for awhile and am stumped for my New build I've been sifting through, and I really am not sure what video card would be best for me.

I am running 2x Monitors at 1920x1080 and high powered games (Operation Flash Point 2 DR)

At the moment I thought my best bet would be getting one of the higher end ATI and running it single then adding a second one later when that one starts to struggle a bit. But I recently learned that of course you can't crossfire different models of Cards, which is different then I thought previously.

So if Crossfire/SLI later is eliminated then that is that. But then rises the question if I should Crossfire say 2x 4890's being the very max of my price or 2x GTX 260's .

My budget for a Video card maxes out around 350$ USD though I shop on Newegg.ca (Canadian:P)

I was originally looking at the GTX275 1792Mb but Now I am not sure.

The computer I am building has to last awhile without upgrades, as I will be strapped for cash through university.

Do you have X58 Mobo? Check the mobo to see if it support both CF and SLi.

How about CF 4870 1GB? It would be slightly cheaper than SLi GTX 260...
However, I suggest you wait for the 5 series to out. It should push the price of 4890 down.

I don't plan to order anything until Win7 Is released as I don't want the hassle of upgrading after getting everything settled on the computer.

4870 is nice, but I was more interested in the nice boost received from the 4890, but I might have to see how much the 5xxx are as I might just buy a single say 5870 or 5890, I've never seen an ATI card rarely over my price range besides the X2, and then just buy another one later.

I am going to be running a P55 board, but I still haven't decided on that.

-EDIT- Changed my mind on the P55 because I finally figured out the Turbo, not very useful for someone that has capabilities to overclock.
