Ok here we go with another question. I have a disk of MS Office 97 and I installed it on my laptop with vista on it. I know, its old but im familiar with it. Now on all my computers the CD Rom, CD/DVD Writer all pick it up. Now on my new acer desktop, I put the disk in and it does not pick it up at all. The disk will spin, the green light will light for a minute, but then nothing happens. i go to click on the drive and it pops the drive open asking to insert a disk.
ANy ideas?

does it read other discs, there are drives that are picky regarding some media type, if you're sure that your office cd is ok, then check that drive on the Acer, try different medias, or you can just bring it back to the stores (if the warranty is still active), problem solve

Just copy all the files of the disc and then have it on the network or a USB stick and install it that way. There for you are nto always relieing on disc all the tuime. :D:)
