Hey all, I am upgrading my friends old pc. It is a HP 1203w. It currently has 512mb of ram (256x2), and the ram is pc3200 400mhz. The question that I have is that I bought a 2gb stick of pc3200, and the computer beeps at me, guessing it doesnt like them ram. And it says that the comp accepts up to 2gb of ram. Is it possible to run one 2gb stick in one slot? maybe I need a bios update? I appreciate your help! :)

It's probable that you might not be able to run a 2GB stick!

You might need to run 512mb x 4 or 1GB + 1GB

2GB might be the max. but the older mobo may not accept single 2GB ram chips..
