Help with overclocking

I have just overclocked my cpu and in bios it recognises this as its went from 3.16GHZ to 4.00GHZ but when i get into windows it just says its at 3.16GHZ but in CPU-Z It says its at 4.00GHZ so whats gone wrong? But i dont thinks its changed as the temperatues exactly the same.(The motherboard is an Asus p5kc if that helps) :confused:

Any help appreciated.
