Help with Password HP pavilion 500

I bought this computer used a few years back. Just last month after I restarted it, the computer will load to the screen where it lets you select "safe mode" or "start windows normally". No matter what option I choose the computer will start up with a blue screen with a error and it will just freeze there. I then tried going to the Bios to select the option to boot from cd. When I go there it ask for a password. Is there any way to pull the password or crack it? Thanks guys.

yeah man, a bit weird though, on ya mother board theres a cmos batter. Looks like an over sized watch one. Like a coin size. Rip that out and leave out for like a min then put back in. That should wipe the bios password...

Sorry!! Was this illegal, Ive had this problem with brought computers before (premade computers from retail shops) they put passwords on everything to apparently "prevent amauter uses breaking their machine" but its really annoying if it hits the fan. : )
