i had planed on buying ryzen but got a call as i had wanted add on craigslist and a guy called and said he had some new parts.
come to find out he had what i was looking for at first. so i picked it up from him.
as it was new in box and got it for a steal.

so i have...

Intel Core i5-7600 Kaby Lake Quad-Core 3.5 GHz
ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6

G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM
470 gpu
2 hard drives { a 1tb and 2tb }
seasonic 630 psu

i got the cpu and m.b. from the guy.
every thing else i picked up.
but its all brand new.

man i must say this thing is very fast.
been playing game and love it..lol

anyway..

i have 2400 ram and i tried setting it in the bios for 2400 but in cpu-z its only showing 2133 ... why ?
and it there a way to set it for 2400 ?

thanks guys.

and if your wandering why i got a z m.b. and no k cpu well.... he is going to get me a i7 7700k cpu for cheap.

You should just have to enable xmp profile in the bios to actually get 2400mhz. What is the exact model number for that ram sticks?

XMP should take care of it, it might be trying invalid voltage or timings. 2133->2400 isn't that huge of a jump. Usually if you hit XMP as the memory setting in UEFI/BIOS it will forcably set the frequency, timings and voltage based on what's in the timings table on the RAM.
