Help with RAM

Hi i was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction! i have a computer here with 512 MB of RAM and i want to increase it to more so it processes faster, but i don't want to buy RAM which is not compatible (if you can do that), below lists a speccy report of the RAM in my current system. Am i able to buy 4gb DDR3 RAM? if so have you got to be carefull of what type you buy?

can you be kind enough to suggest appropriate RAM or maybe to put some links to ebay where i can purchase some

any help would be great thank you!!

A very easy way to find out what kind of memory your pc needs and what it has in there is to go to www.crucial.com and run their free scan. It will tell you what you have and what you can have in there... and then gives you options to buy some... but its usually a little high. I would just find out what kind it takes and then go to newegg or somewhere cheaper and buy it.
 
DDR 333. You only have two slots. Plus that doesnt say what your max limit is with memory. Do you know the motherboard model number?

Supports up to 2GB PC3200/2700/2100/1600 DDR SDRAMs. Supports up to DDR 400 with a 2gb. max. Which means up to 1gb. each slot.
 
Just to let everyone who helped me i ended up paying £33.50 for ddr 2gb ram (1gb on each stick) i found it shocking how old ram is as expensive as newer ram !!

How Come????
 
Thats only $53 dollars for 2GB and thats cheap, the average is $30 per GB.
They charge high prices cause many people need and want it, if you got a new motherboard that uses ddr2 or ddr3 its alot cheaper for more gb's.
