I have vista x64 intalled my system is in my signature. I went to boot up the computer and thier was squigly lines all over and some of the letters were all funny looking... the screen went black and then i got the bsod. i went into safe mode uninstalled the drivers and used driver sweep and then reinstalled and it keeps going back to the red lines after 1 hour more or less. i can't seem to figure out the problem... is it my video card or just the driver? the driver is the most recent one nvidia has released for the 8800gts

Can you give us at least a BSOD error code/message? Does it tell you to stop anything?

How would i get the screen to copy using print screen? my camera isn't very good and it's too long to write down.....

Alright, when did this happen? Was it like right after you completed your build? Or did everything run smoothly and then that happened? The BSOD seems to be caused by an unstable nvidia card. Try putting another GPU in there and see what happens.

this video card has been in thier since 2006-2007 i think.....i don't have another gpu but is that really the problem? don't have cash to buy a new one right now...=/

well of course it's the problem but i meant to say is if it's the video card or the driver? I boot it into safe mode and the lines are thier but then they go away.. i reboot into normal windows and for about 1 hour it works fine then the lines come back and BSOD....maybe the fan settings are bad? I have been hearing some clicking......oh and my temps have never been really great on any of my hardware..... maybe some more fans and faster fan speed on the gpu?

It depends, what are the temps on your GPU? Although I doubt it's because of overheating. I'm truly stumped. I'll try to get someone more experienced on this thread :P

nah your right gpu temps only 100-150.......i just checked cpu-z and nothing came up... it only showed what cpu i had it said i had no mobo, ram, gpu.......could this all be my motherboard then?

yup that didn't work.....starting to think it's the video card.....i had it off all day yesterday and then i went to turn it on and it was fine...10-15 minutes later thier were red splatters on my screen and then it froze up and BSOD......maybe it is getting too hot.... i'll post up a picture of temps in a bit...
