Help with retrieving files hidden in JPG files

I am really new to computers and really just want to learn as much as i can. I just recently followed this tutorial:http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-to-hide-secret-documents-or.html

I have windows vista and I managed to hide 2 documents in a .jpg file and now i was wondering if there was any other way to retrieve them than to use 7-zip, Winrar, or any other downloadable software. If anyone can help me that would be great =)

I wouldn't waist your time with Steganography for an encryption method. Look into using truecrypt for encryption.
