hello folks.pls i ve tried sharing a broadband internet conection among 3 laptops in a home enviroment and has not been friutful.i connected d 3g router via a usb port and a lan interface also connected to the laptop with the broadband connectivity. the modem connected to the laptop is a novatel m0bile xpress card modemx720.the other two laptops ve been succesfully connected to the wlan generated by the router but it doesnt access the internet.i configured the wan settings just as directed by the manual by setting the wan mode to "3g" but it doesnt connect nor share the connections with the other two laptops on the local wlan.i then changed the mode to "dhcp" to automatically detect settings by using the ics feature on my win vista o/s and sharing the internet connection but it status then show connected on the "internet settings "page of the router managment portal, but still does not share the internet access with the wlan clients.pls any corrective approach is deply appreciated and i ve also attached the screen shots of the wan,lan and wlan settings.thanks

From reading your post, it appears you are plugging the modem into the laptop, with a 3G router you are supposed to plug the modem into the router. The router then uses the modem to establish an internet connection to be shared.

Connectify will turn a Win 7 laptop into a wireless router. It will work but you will always need to keep that laptop powered on in order for any other computers to have a connection. Since you already have the 3G modem, you don't really need Connectify. I use Connectify to share my connection when I tether my smartphone to my laptop only because I'm not aware of any routers that let you tether an Android based smartphone.

What is the mfr and model # of the 3G router you are using?
