Hi, i need some peoples advice on selecting a hosting service for some websites i am developing. Multiple sites will all stem from one main page. Most of them will be flash based as well, some with a fairly large amount of content and media. I would also like to have some director applications on one of the sites.
I would need a hosting service that would support all of this without offering horrible lag to the user. Anyones input will be gladly taken.
My second question is about a pay pay service i plan to include on one of the sites. I would like to set up paid downloads of some high quality 3d models i have created, but i dont want this to interfere with my hosting plan and it must be secure. (some models are very large in data size) So, could i set it up so that these models are hosted on my mac pro. ( i could also do this on a windows machine.) Once a user has paid, they would receive a code and a link to the model on my computer. Once they enter the code, which would have to be dynamic with a limited number of uses, they would be able to download the model.
Would this make my computer constantly slow and incredibly insecure, or would this actually work. How would i go about setting this up as well.
