I've got the demo running on my laptop off the CD-RW I burned the .iso file onto, but now it's kinda frozen after being really really slow (which I guess is to be expected while running an OS on a CD). Is there anything like Ctrl+Alt+Del for Ubuntu or Linux in general that I could use?

I was hoping this would be a bit easier than this :(

Yes, it would be safe.

The very first time I tried Ubuntu from CD it froze, but once installed it was fine so don't let it put you off.

yea could've been a bad burn. I had to burn 2 cds and the final one finally worked on a dvd, but now that its installed i dont really have trouble. I think i am actually using it a lot more now than windows. If only i could get ruckus to work on linux.(yea right)

The annoying thing with ubuntu is that its good for new users (and generally very good) but it does go a bit heavy on system recourses.

you can kill your computer's power at any time with a Live OS that runs off a disk. There is no harm and the OS is completely read only so it doesn't do any damage. Once it is installed is a different story.
