help with upload speed

I have a comcast 6mbps connection that offers 384k upload..


what i don't get is i was under the assumption that i have a pretty fast internet connection, yet on when uploading (torrents) my upload speed tops out at about 20kb per second...is this normal? or is there somethin up..


also another quick question, i have a network here at home with 3 computers sharing the internet, does that bandwidth get split up? is that why my speed is slower?

(i'm not too good with all this bandwidth stuff lol, so bear with me)

It all depends on what the other computers are doing.

If the computer are downloading or are on various sites... it will be slower.

I have the same deal at home.

If I'm downloading the internet is slow for everyone else on the network.

It could all be to do with your ISP if there is a lot of traffic online it can also slow it down.
