Help with Video Cards

I need help with deciding what kind of video card I'll need to buy. I have an Emachines computer that has PCI Express 2.0, 4GB of RAM, an AMD 3.3 dual core processor. I don't know very much about video cards as to how to look for one that is gaming oriented. All I know is VRAM helps and I would need an HD card to play the games I want to play. I don't know much else. I would like to be able to play Dragon Age: Origins on Maximum settings, since it is my favorite game. Any bit of help would be thankfully appreciated.

How much you want to spend? What kind of power supply does it have model and wattage? Probably OEM, so if you want a mid/upper end card you might need to replace it to.

The Model is an ET1331G-05W. According to what I'm seeing, the power supply is only 300 Watts, which seems low to me. I don't know what model the power supply is, or how to find out...but I bought the computer in America, if that's what your mean by country.

so you'll need a new psu, and a gpu from either newegg or tigerdirect.com, tired so will look tomarrow if nobody has helped you which i doubt.

that too, the cheapest good psu is corsairs 500watt builder series for 60 -20 mir i think, and a good gpu will be 100, but there are some that'll do great if you lower the res and shading a little for less.

Okay, so there's the power supply that will work...what about the video card? How will I know if it's powerful enough to run such a game?

What I did when shopping for a new GPU was start reading the reviews at newegg.com on cards that were around $150(lowest I wanted to spend on a GPU), there's always quite a few people that say "Ran (insert game here) on (insert setting here)" and would tell you what kind of performance they got. Then I'd go up a model and see what they said about that one, and so on. Eventually I noticed the performance equal out where say a 69xx had the same performance as a 68xx with the games I play(depending on the games you play you could end up spending money on a card that is overkill for what you use it for), and if I started playing games that required a bit more power I plan to just Xfire another 6850. After I decided on the model I started looking into how many problems people were having with each brand, and chose accordingly.

Without knowing how much you're looking to spend, it's extremely difficult to help you here, if you want some better suggestions let us know your budget.

I saw quite a few reviews when looking for my card that mentioned Dragon Age on max, they were 68xx series and higher, I think I saw a 6790 that mentioned it too, can't remember exactly.
