hi everyone, i'm setting up a network in my local night club consisting of 10desktops running xp pro(acer t660 with 1gb of ram) and 1 server running 2003server sp2 (dual amd 3ghz with 4gb of ram). 24port dell gigabit switch, desktops have gigabit nic and server has dual gigabit nic.
setting up ip's and dns is no problem. my question is 4 of the computers will be pulling big files (music videos) from the server 150mb to 300mb i'm just wondering will i run into trouble with the bandwith or will it be a harddrive rpm issue current hds on server are 2x wd 500gb 7500rpm ( os and music files on one and video files on the other).
also i just have the server set up as file sharing, is there a better way to set it up? the software program to play the video files is virtual Dj.
thanks
