I need help getting rid of a virus and was told that John could help...
I tried running combofix, but the computer bsod's me every time the scan initializes. I was succesful, however, in running HijackThis, the logfile follows.
Please help me interpret this and get the computer running properly again.

Since you are having issues with combofix, try running this procedure and post both logs.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here or here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Please keep updating until it says you have the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • A log will be saved automatically which you can access by clicking on the Logs tab within Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you continue to experience problems after doing this, please post a HijackThis log by doing the following:

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log



However, since you already have hijackthis, you don't need to redownload it, just run a scan.
 
I should also note that I am unable to download anything (such as malwarebyte's anti-malware program), and was running combofix/hijackthis off of a flash drive. Any time I try to download anything, the computer freezes up or bluescreens- and the same thing goes for trying to run anti-virus programs. I only have basic internet functionality at the moment.
 
You will have to use the flash drive to download malwarebytes and install it to the infected computer and run it.

Well, you were pretty well infected from rogue antivirus programs. And now I want you to try running combofix again and post the logfile from it when it's finished.
 
Combofix keeps running into bluescreens... The computer starts up to disk consistency checks as well. Should I allow the consistency checks to run and/or do a full scan with malwarebytes?
 
You definately need to let the diskcheck complete, it wouldn't run unless you have disk errors.
 
I let the diskcheck run its course and when the computer booted up, i ran combofix. This time around, it won't even let me initialize the scan, saying I don't have administrator privileges (and I'm only the only user account this computer has, definitely with admin privileges).
I've also run a full scan with anti-malware and it's coming up with nothing.
 
I tried that, Combofix is still denying that I have administrator pirivileges...
I've set to backing up all personal info, do you think it might be best to just restore to factory settings?
