Help with Wireless

I need some help on which router to buy. I currently had my land line disconnected so that I could have multiple CAT 5e jacks with which to connect for internet. However there are some places where I rely on wireless, because jacks are not available and it is too costly to add. I currently am using a Linksys WRT 150N (see below). I am also using an Amped repeater (house is 3 levels and large). But the Linksys is about 7 years old and I would like to replace it (willing to spend up to $150). Even know the strength of the signal coming out is only about 85% and that is close to the unit itself. I'm assuming it's time to replace. Any suggestions?

Considering that the best I am going to do is a 8 mgbps download and 1 mgbps upload, is the second one going to provide any advantage?

They'll both have very good range. The second one is just the newest of the new.

The second one only has a three star raiting and is much more expensive and since you will have that speed it ain't wort it. AC routers are for fan boys who take advantage of new tech. N is good enough. LOL

Megagigabits/s? The unit is Mbps for bits or MB/s for bytes.

At those WAN speeds, pretty much anything will give you max capacity. AC/N will increase your LAN transfer rates but clearly the limitation is on your internet package for what you're looking for.

You mentioned that your house is 3 levels, but the picture looks like it's in the basement. You should put the AP on the middle floor.
