i don't really understand what you're saying. be more specific.
your ram,HD and Processor is ok.

What CCPS is saying there is that the installer is locking up right when you make the choice of going to the recovery console by pressing the "R" key or pressing the enter key to start the installation. When pressing enter the next screen is not seen suggesting a bad or finger marked cd, a possible hardware fault like memory, or something heating up fast like the cpu.

Ill check if its the cpu heat or the ram. Ill look for it and make sure its not that.

Like I stated earlier the installer is locking at the options screen. You may have a bad disk since you inspected it and found nothing wrong. If that's a new board you may have to grab a bios update. Sometimes that will be needed when problems appear on a new build. It's not the optical drive since you clearly made it to this point.

At least one thing will prove useful for those upgrading from an older version of Windows to Vista seen at that site. http://vistahomepremium.windowsreinstall.com/upgrade/upgradetovista.htm

i was thinking about installing windows vista but i dont have the money for it and i cant get around here . Then ill have to drive to bestbuy and get it that will take about 2-4 hours to get it and come back. so idk im having a guy look at it this weekend and hes going to help me ..

I wouldn't rush out for Vista if you can't get XP to go on. The little information you provided on the system there sounds like an older build. If your hard drive is an ide drive the cable it's on could be crap! The XP installer may be locking due to the lack of detection. For Vista you will want to consider a new build with at least 1gb of memory and some other newer hardwares. At least you have someone hopefully with some good experience taking a first hand look at your case.

I dont know what to do with this. I need Xp in this computer but wont work .:( please help me out .

Are you trying to install Windows on an ide or sata drive? If sata you will most likely have to go into the bios to set the Plug'in'play option to no as well as setting the ide to sata in the boot device section along with having the driver floppy made up. For an ide drive try a different cable to see if that's the problem.

Check the drive's jumper setting if ide. It amy have to be set to cable select rather then master. It mainly sounds like the drive isn't being detected by the XP installer.

ill try that when i get to my shop today. hmm thanks for all your help . if this dont work ill put in 98. it works on that.
