Help!

right i am with talktalk and my friend is with talktalk now he has a internet connection upstairs and downstairs with 2 modems i have done that but if i plug it in downstairs it wont work upstairs and the same if i plug it in upstairs have you got any ideas how i can change that.

anyway Windowsvista, i dont know too much about this, but are you trying to run the 2 modems off of 1 phone line? cause i think you might need 2 lines, but im not entirely sure.

Yes, agreed. Please repeat your question but be a bit more specific because at the moment it doesnt make a great deal of sense

right i have 2 computers 1 upstairs 1 down stairs,now i have 1 router and 1 modem how can i have the 2 computers running on the internet at the same time.
Because when i connected them up 1 will work upstairs and when i am not using one upstairs one downstairs will work.
I need both on at the same time.

ok so now you have changed your story. Do you have 2 modems or 1 router and 1 modem?

what is it that doesnt work? the PC's or the modem(s)/router?

if you do indeed have a modem and a router, the router should be connected to the modem, then the pcs connected to the router, either wired or wirelessly.

Yes agreed, both systems should be connected to the router, and the router should then be connected to the modem.
