after talking to the ASUS guy he narrowed it down. he said it is the power supply, the cpu or the mother board. the cpu and the power supply looked like they were working fine so im going to take it as a DOA motherboard. the PCI-E ports dont work....
should i proceeed to put all of my new gear into my old dell motherboard or could i really burn out stuff on there?

a motherboard is simply a motherboard, so provided that socket fits your cpu
