Help!

So I just build my pc and I am using a hardrive that already had windows 7 installed. Bios work fine the. It says windows green and red dots appear for the animation and it fails. Bios ask if I want to repair windows and I choose yes. Now it says canno repair contact Microsoft. Pls help fast!

You cant most of the time just swap out a windows install on another computer and except it to boot up fine, without doing alittle work on it before hand. Really needed to uninstall all of the old drivers before you swapped out. If not, when you boot you will have drivers conflicts. A clean install it the best thing to do.

I borrowed the os from my friend so I can't get it again. The drive has never been used except to install windows as I was saving it for this pc. Is there anything I can do at this point?

See if you can boot in safe mode. Go to add and remove programs and uninstall any drivers that had to do with the other computer. Chipset/LAN/sound/Video card.
Then reboot in normal mode and see what happens. Then install the drivers for the board you have now.

Im not sure I can do that, the pc goes straight to windows when it boots and then goes to the repair screen. Is there a way I can make a copy of the os on the drive?

If you got the OS from a friend and its installed on his computer, your not going to be able to activated it anyway.
