Help?

My old laptop crapped out. I want to buy a new one that would be able to support Total War: Rome 2. The problem is that I have no idea what I'm doing.

To be honest, I feel like I've been tossed into a massive warehouse, with the light's off, no flash light, or light source, and told there was a bag of money some where. Go find it.

I don't want to spend money, only to find out, it won't run the game. Or any Total War game.

I've tried Best buy and Amazon, no help. I've googled "gaming laptops." Only to find out that they were recommending laptop's for $1,000 and up.

Honestly. I'll buy a desk top if need be.

Here are Total War: Rome 2's minimum specifications

Resolution:1024x768 minimum
Hard drive space: 30 gb
Operating system: windows xp/ vista/ 7/ 8
Processor: 2 GHz intel duel core/ 2.6 GHz intel single core processor
RAM: 1 gb available system memory XP; 2gb vista/7 /8
Video card: 512 md directx 9.0c- compatible video card w/shader model 3

I did my best to copy it fully. This whole post probably makes me look stupid. I don't care. I just want help.

Yes, I know that Total War: Rome 2 comes out 9/3/13

Would recommend getting a desktop as well. You can do so much more for less money with a desktop than you can a laptop.

Thank you both for replying. What desktop would be a good recommendation? Would an older model alienware desktop work? I've seen them priced on amazon for about $500 or a little bit more. But they usually get poor reviews and I end up doubting if it would be the right thing.

Could you build your own system or know of anyone that could do it for you? Alienware is over priced. You won't want something old that will have to be replaced in a couple years. You would be better off building your own with good parts that will last for 5 years or more.

Unfortunately. no to both of those. I've thought about going to a computer store and asking one of their employee's for help or even geek squad if they do that sort of thing

Do not do geek squad, they will literally rape you. You basically need to look for independent mom and pop computer repair stores or an individual that works on them part time, like me. But that doesn't help you. lol

Lol thanks for the warning. I perfer my butt to keep it's virginy goodness.

To be honest, I'm not sure there is any. When I think of mom and pop stores, I see 2 old people behind a counter
