Hi,

I have a Samsung M3 500Gb external harddrive. It had been used on a Linux based satellite receiver for the TV for recording etc. I formatted the harddriver using ****** partition, from NFTS to EXT3 which was the filing system used on the receiver. I sold two of them on Ebay and kept one myself and none of them can be read by the Computers. They are showing driver succesfuly installed, and appearing in device manager. the blue light on the driver is working OK. Was wantting to format it back so they could be used on a computer? Any ideas? Thanks

Windows can only read FAT and NTFS partitions. Windows doesn't recognize EXT3 partitions.

Should this program allow me to recongnise the Hard Driver and then Format it?

My apologies, I misread the OP - I thought you had it up and running. Yes, that program will allow you to see the Drive in question (rather, the file system will be made known to Windows, which will in turn allow it to be seen). From there, right-click and format to NTFS.
