Hello there,
I have a problem which I hope that someone could help me resolve.
At the moment I have my hard drive split on 2 on C and D drive and space on C drive is geting very low, I would like to combine and put them together so it may all work as one now. Could someone be able to help me and tell me how I may do that!
Any help very much apriciated!

i think partition magic is able to merge partitions together but it is a bit of software that you would need to buy.

Im also not too sure you could do it with the two you have as i think it can only merge partitions that dont contain your system folders

anyone clarify this?

But what would u suggest to do then?
I'm running very low on memory on C and D is more then half empty? I keep on getting this message flashing that my memory is low and it might interfear with running of my computer!
I really don't know what to do now and what will happen if it gets full!?

try moving some of your files over to the d: drive. Any pictures, music, general documents and things, move them over.

Empty your recycle bin

also go to my computer, right click on your drive icon and select properties and click on disk cleanup, hopefully it will rid you of unnecessary files

finally go to control panel, add/remove programs and unistall programs that you dont use anymore.

From there on out try saving most of your work and things onto the d: drive.

p.s. is the message saying your memory is low or saying that the space available on c: is low?

I did most of this stuff already. Moved all my files to D drive and I even moved some programs from C to D drive. I cleaned up my disk as well and the recy. bin as well. I think the problem is that main programs like windows ect. have been installed on C drive so when I get any updates coming through they go to C drive I guess and that is what is keeping on buliding up. I can't think what else could it be. I don't save anything on C drive any more and all my downloads are automaticly downloaded on to my D drive. But somehow C drive is just always getting full.
It's keep on saying that memory on C drive is low.

is it mentioning virtual memory being low at all?

just trying to determine if theres something else that could be done.

Also what sizes are each partition. let us know the size of the drives and how much space is used on each

No it only mentions the C drive. Every time I put my laptop on this little balloon comes up and tells me that drive memory is low.
I can't think of anything else I could do thats why I have been searching for helo on line.
Ok so my
C drive is size 4.87 GB and free space is 69.1 MB.
D drive is size 32.3 GB and free space is 22.5 GB

it is a small partition for the system drive thats for sure, plus your programs will be installed to there too i guess.

Which programs are you using, for instance have you got microsoft office?

If so then do you have the original installation disks for it

A suggestion would be to uninstall larger programs that you have the disks for and then reinstall them, during the installation tell it to put the programs in a directory on the d drive instead

OK I will try and do that.
Do u think it's worth for me purchasing partition magic, do u think that it will do anything!?

im pretty sure that it wont be able to merge those two partitions because one of them contains your system files so its probably not worth it

It's not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have tried doing what u told me to do and it hasn't made any space actually, some files just automatically get downloaded on to C as on D drive. So I really don't know what to do now?
So if u think that will not help what can I do now?
How can I join this to drives now? There must be a way! Pls Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unless someoene else can think of a way im really dont think you can merge these partitions.

there might be a way to create an image of what you have on c:, then wipe it to start again and use the image to put things back on.

I'm out of ideas though im afraid, hopefully someone will come along in a bit and help
