today when i put in a audio cd in my laptop a very loud buzzing noise started coming from the dvd/cd drive. i started going threw cds to see if it was the cd and some make the noise and some dont. is this a problem with the cds or is it with the drive?? i also tried playing a dvd, and that seems to work fine. help would be gratley aprreciated, thanks.

is the cd slightly bent, because every revoluion it can hit something inside the drive? otherwise, is the cd drive pushed in properly (dont know just throwing out suggestions)

i guess it could be becouse there bent, it only happend with a few of my cds, the rest work fine, it sound like some kind of vibration.

it seems that it only makes that noise when im using itunes...??
im playing these cds in windows media player and it dosent make any noise at all. does this mean that its itunes?

Try a two or three blank cds straight from the case. They may help narrow your problem.

It sounds that it could be a cd rubbing, but it could also be your drive is throwing itself out of whack from time to time.

This may sound strange, but my car stero makes and AWFUL screeching sound when I put an mp3 disc in, but after the initial reading it plays fine. I highly doubt this is your issue, but the point is that strange things like that happen, and to each is own.

Are the cd's getting scratched at all after the rubbing type sound?

Hope everything works out for you. Try finding religion too, sometimes that helps. Just kidding...haha.
