ok i turn my computer on, and a black screen with white letters saying like S.M.A.R.T hardrive....
um and other stuff.
my keyboard isnt working.


it was jus built and iam trying to install sutff.

its not just a hdd
its a whole new computer, with nothing on it

s.m.a.r.t is just a program to monitor your hdd's health status. do you have a usb keyboard? try enabling usb support in your bios.

...wouldnt know on how to do that, now people can insult me like they usually do here, but i cant get past the first little screen telling me stuff

you can just get a ps2 keyboard, non-usb kind. once windows is installed and loaded, you can switch back.

but i think the problem is, my burner isnt finding anything to boot from.

Doublecheck all the connections, all the usual stuff. Jumpers?

Does the boot drive show up in the BIOS?

Is this a Maxtor harddrive?

no it is a western digital hdd.
uh... i wish i can describe more, but iam double checking stuff.
