Ok i tried to overclock my memory, ive never done it before so i was just kinda screwin around, and i changed the mhz from from 5 something to 667, and now it just keeps beeping when i turn it on so i unplugged the psu, and removed the battery from the mobo, plugged it all back in, and lots more beeping. I thought if you removed the battery, it reset the bios to default. any help would be great

Specs,
its an intel mobo and a core 2 6300
the memory is some cheap brand from Korea out of a gateway

thanks for any help

Um... don't ever overclock like that take it up 3-5mhz at a time.

Try leaving the battery out for a while and then if that dosn't work try putting in some different ram.

Try going back into BIOS and see if there's a "Restore Factory Defaults" option. If that doesn't work, google how to reset the CMOS jumpers, and see if doing that helps.

thanks for all the advice. I ended up changing my mobo jumper config to the "maintenance" setting and it let me back into bios. then i could change the settings back, move the jumper back, and all is well. thanks for all the help!
