will my DDR2 667 ram work in a DDR2 533 slot? will it just slow down?

It should clock back to 533 just fine.

Most new hardwares are backward compatible, so it will just clock down to the highest speed your motherboard supports. I'm running DDR800 ram sticks in a DDR667 slot because I haven't got my new motherboard yet.
