I just finished my first build and I have a Memorex DVD +/-RW drive that was external and I put in so I didn't have to buy a new one yet. I set it up with the jumper to be a master drive and when I boot to bios (because I don't have an OS yet) it doesn't recognize it as a Master IDE Drive... It picks up my SATA WD 400GB HDD but not the DVD Drive... any ideas?

ok so I got that working, thanks. And I got XP installed but it says my HD is 137GB with 136GB free... the reason why that is weird is because its a new 400GB WD drive... any ideas whats going on?

thats the thing... i didn't partition it at all. when it started up tho it said it found 137GB of unpartitioned space... but it should have found like 390GB (400GB formatted whatever that is) right? Any other ideas?

try downloading Pc Wizard and under system summary see if it says the drive is in fact a 400Gb drive. I think just right clicking the drive will only show the partitioned space.
