Both] - To carry rupees, you need a good wallet. There are three different wallets in the game.
Standard: With this which you start the game with, you can only carry up to 99 rupees.
Adult: Get a hold of 10 Gold Skulltula tokens and go to the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village and you will be rewarded with this wallet which lets you have up to 200 rupees at a time!
Giant: Once you collect 30 Gold Skulltula tokens, do the same as with the adult wallet and you will get this huge wallet which gives you the ability of having up to 500 rupees!
At Lake Hylia, dive into the water as Adult Link, and you will find a bottle containing a letter from Ruto.

For the most part I agree, the older systems were way better for gameplay. The new systems have games that are amazing as well, usually it's just harder to find themit seems as tho the older systems such as sega genesis, nintendo, nintendo 64 were the most addicting. you can play the games for like 2 weeks straight and be like wow that was sweet.
